Star bird of the month was a Buff-breasted Sandpiper at John Muir Country Park, Lothian. It was the first time I've seen this North American wader in Scotland but it was too distant to allow anything other than these poor record shots.
All the other good birds in Lothian this month were also too distant for photography (adult Sabine's Gull at Seafield and about 30 Red-necked Grebes in Gosford Bay), but at least I got some reasonable shots of some of the commoner birds.
